My final project in my Adobe Illustrator 1 class. We had to take an article from a recent New Yorker and make a cover for it. I chose an article he talked about in class about medical marijuana dispensaries: [link] . Very interesting, I do recommend it.
The article mentioned Tibetian prayer flags many times. so I included them. It talked about how many of the people were into alternative medicine, helping the environment, yoga, and such. You'll have to read it to find out why there's a statue of Ganesh. Because of time contraints, I mostly used livetracing. All pictures were found on Google images, edited, then livetraced (meticulously selecting the colors to trace with). I did the black outlines by hand, with the pen and pencil tools. The printed version looked really cool, and my teacher seemed to really like it, so I'm happy!  Detail: [link] |
